The Herberger Theater Center is not only a performing arts center, but is known in the Phoenix area as a cultivator and advocate for the arts community.
The theater center helped to revitalize downtown Phoenix during 1989, when the city was undergoing major redevelopment and renovation. Since then, the Herberger Theater Center has remained true to its original mission, by driving the cultural and educational development of the greater Phoenix area. Every year, the theater hosts 175,000 patrons and 30,000 school children.
The Herberger Theater Center is home to three theater groups: the Actors Theatre, the Arizona Theatre Company and the Center Dance Ensemble.
To round out the inviting beauty of the center, visitors can view the works of Arizona artists in the Upper Steele Pavilion.
Recent productions at the Herberger Theater Center include "Ain't Misbehavin'," "The Screwtape Letters," "Woody Guthrie's American Song" and "Seussical the Musical."
